💨 Abstract
The Vatican beatifies Floribèrt Bwana Chui Bin Kositi, a Congolese customs worker who was killed in 2007 for resisting a bribe and refusing to allow spoiled rice to be distributed to poor people. Kositi, recognized as a martyr, is set to become Congo's first saint. His beatification is seen as a model of holiness against corruption, a major issue in Congo.
