💨 Abstract
The U.N. food agency needs $46 million to assist 2 million hunger-stricken Haitians for the next six months. The crisis, driven by gang violence and political instability, has left five 7 million people in dire need of food. The World Food Program (WFP) has historically supported 500,000 schoolchildren, but funding cuts threaten to halve this. The WFP warns of potential catastrophes from hurricanes due to scarcity of food stocks.
