💨 Abstract
Recent drone attacks targeted oil fields in Iraq's Kurdish region, exacerbating tensions between Baghdad and Kurdish authorities. Two drones hit an oil field in Zakho, damaging equipment but causing no injuries. This follows a similar attack on a U.S.-operated field in Dohuk province. The Kurdish Ministry of Natural Resources condemns the attacks, aiming to disrupt the regional economy and threaten safety. Prime suspects are Iran-backed militias, although the Iraqi army denies involvement without evidence.
