💨 Abstract
Three suspected drug traffickers were killed and 2,300 pounds of cocaine was seized in a police raid near Tortue Island, Haiti. The suspects opened fire on officers, leading to a fatal exchange. One suspect was arrested, and no Haitian police officers were injured. The U.S. has previously implicated Haitian elites in drug trafficking, including former President Michel Martelly.
