💨 Abstract

Wildfires in southern Europe worsened, claiming three more lives in Spain, Turkey, and Albania. In Greece, Patras residents aided firefighters battling blazes. Resources were strained as countries fought multiple fires post heatwaves. Albania saw evacuations and explosions from old artillery shells. Spain raised emergency levels due to evacuations, while Turkey saw a forestry worker die in a fire truck accident. International aid, including from Athens to Albania, was deployed to combat the numerous blazes.
