💨 Abstract
Lawyers for Brazil's former President Jair Bolsonaro have denied coup charges against him in a Supreme Court trial. They argued that there is no solid evidence proving he acted against Brazil’s democratic institutions or incited others to do so. Bolsonaro's defense highlighted that he allowed the presidential transition to proceed, contradicting allegations of a plot to stay in power. A panel of five Supreme Court justices will decide the case by year’s end.
