💨 Abstract
The U.S. Coast Guard has reported increased activity of Chinese research vessels in the Arctic, with two ships currently operating in U.S. Arctic waters and five others monitored nearby. The Coast Guard has ramped up its presence in response. This trend has been observed over the past three years, with multiple Chinese vessels conducting research operations in the region. Encounters with the ships, including the "Ji Di" and "Zhong Shan Da Xue Ji Di," have been noted recently.
