💨 Abstract
Between 2022 and 2024, Mexico saw 8.3 million people exit poverty, marking an 18% reduction. Extreme poverty dropped by 23%, and moderate poverty by 16%. This progress is attributed largely to former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador's policies, which included raising the minimum wage and expanding social welfare programs. However, criticisms note that these measures may not be sustainable long-term, and poverty could rise if the programs end.
