💨 Abstract
Spain has fined Airbnb €64 million ($75 million) for advertising unlicensed tourist rentals, lacking proper license numbers, or listing incorrect host information. This action is part of Spain's efforts to address a housing affordability crisis, with short-term rental companies like Airbnb and Booking.com being blamed for increasing housing costs. In May, the government ordered Airbnb to remove around 65,000 listings due to rule violations.
