💨 Abstract
Thames Water has been fined nearly £123 million due to breaches in wastewater operations and dividend payouts. This is the biggest penalty imposed by water regulator Ofwat, which concluded a lengthy investigation. The company will bear the costs, not the 16 million customers it serves in London and Thames Valley. Ofwat found issues with wastewater operations and found shareholders were given improperly large dividends.
