💨 Abstract

Hundreds of thousands of people defied Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban's attempts to block the annual Pride march in Budapest. The event, renamed "Bupadest Pride Freedom," drew international support, including over 70 European Parliament members and EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. Despite Orban's threats and pro-government media's negative coverage, the march highlighted concerns over freedom of assembly and LGBTQ+ rights, underscoring solidarity across Europe.
