💨 Abstract
After an Ofcom investigation, BT subsidiaries EE and Plusnet were found to have violated consumer protection rules by not providing essential documents to customers when they signed up. This affected over 1.1 million customers. BT was fined £2.8 million and has refunded over £18 million for early exit fees charged to those who left their contracts before expiration. Affected customers are advised to contact their providers if they believe they were not adequately compensated.
