💨 Abstract
An 8.8 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Russia’s far east, triggering tsunami warnings across the Pacific. Waves reached heights of up to five meters in Russia and 2.5 meters in Chile. While alerts have been lifted in many areas, Chile remains under warning. The earthquake also caused a volcanic eruption and minor casualties, including one death in Japan.
