đ¨ Abstract
England is expanding its use of facial recognition technology to combat crime. Ten vans equipped with live facial recognition will be deployed in seven new areas, including Greater Manchester and West Yorkshire. These vans will scan faces and compare them against a database of criminals and suspects. The Home Office emphasizes the technology's focus on serious offenders, while privacy campaigners criticize it as dystopian and intrusive.
