💨 Abstract
A viral video of a supposed "lion" roaming in East Clare, Ireland, was revealed to be a Newfoundland dog named Mouse with a lion-like haircut. The Irish police confirmed the dog's identity and assured the public that Mouse was friendly. Social media users expressed concern about the dog's shaved fur, noting that it can interfere with a Newfoundland's temperature regulation. This incident is not the first time a dog has been mistaken for another animal.
