💨 Abstract
Opposition AIUDF MLA Aminul Islam from Nagaon, Assam, was detained under the National Security Act (NSA) after being released on bail for sedition charges. He was arrested for making public statements allegedly defending Pakistan and linking the Pahalgam terror attack to communal polarization. The AIUDF distanced itself from his comments. The NSA detention also refers to 23 previous cases against him, including a prior arrest for remarks about COVID facilities.
