💨 Abstract
Private bus operators in West Bengal, represented by five associations, have announced a three-day strike starting May 22 due to unresolved issues. After unsuccessful talks with Transport Secretary Saumitra Mohan, their demands include extending the lifespan of older vehicles and stopping alleged police excesses. The operators claim the sector is struggling post-COVID, and they seek intervention from Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
