A magnitude 5.9 earthquake struck off the island of Crete in Greece, felt as far as Egypt, with no significant damage reported. The quake, at a depth of 35 km, prompted a temporary tsunami warning. Greece, known for its seismic activity, recently experienced prolonged tremors on the island of Santorini. The earthquake was detected near Karpathos in the Mediterranean Sea.
