💨 Abstract
The Uttar Pradesh government has closed zoos in Lucknow and Kanpur for a week, following the detection of bird flu in a tigress at Gorakhpur Zoo. This follows similar closures in Gorakhpur and Etawah. The closure, from May 14 to May 20, aims to prevent virus transmission and enhance surveillance. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed all premises to be sanitized, with animals and food sources regularly tested.
