💨 Abstract
During South Africa's green turtle season (September–February), sub-adult turtles often strand on beaches due to rough seas, human activity (boat strikes, plastic ingestion), or the Agulhas Current. Stranded turtles face dehydration, hypothermia, and death. If found, contact authorities for rescue and rehabilitation at the Two Oceans Aquarium’s Turtle Conservation Centre. Public vigilance and quick action can significantly improve their survival chances.
