The Johannesburg High Court found Senior Counsel Seth Nthai guilty of corruption for soliciting a R5 million bribe from an Italian businessman in 2009. The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) welcomed the ruling. Nthai was fined R500,000 or sentenced to two years in prison, with a five-year suspended sentence if he remains conviction-free.
