đź’¨ Abstract
Deputy Minister of Water and Sanitation, Sello Seitlholo, has pledged to eradicate the invasive alien vegetation at Vaalkop Dam in Rustenburg. This infestation, mainly water hyacinth and Salvinia minima, threatens water abstraction, treatment capacity, and regional water supply. Heavy rainfall and nutrient discharges from various sources have contributed to the problem.
