💨 Abstract
Two former SANParks rangers, Freedom Mabilane and Tshifhiwa Ramuhashi, were sentenced to 14 years in prison for rhino poaching in the Kruger National Park in 2018. The court found them guilty of illegally hunting a rhinoceros and conspiracy, with sentences of 10 and 4 years respectively. Mpumalanga’s police commissioner hoped the ruling would deter future poaching.
