đź’¨ Abstract
South Africa is moving towards phasing out the green ID book as major banks are set to offer Smart ID and passport services. Minister Leon Schreiber announced that over 840 branches of key banks, including FNB, Capitec, Standard Bank, Absa, and Discovery Bank, will provide these services within the next year. This expansion will streamline the application process, reducing inefficiencies and making it more convenient for South Africans.
