💨 Abstract
Durban Mayor Cyril Xaba has welcomed the Transport Department's plans to develop a high-speed rail link between Durban and Johannesburg, which could also connect to other major cities. This project, with a proposed speed of 300km/h, aims to reduce the travel time between the two metros from six to two hours. Xaba believes this could boost Durban's economy and tourism, making it feasible for people to live in Durban and work in Johannesburg.
