đź’¨ Abstract
The Freedom Front Plus (VF Plus) opposes proposed name changes for Port Alfred and the Kowie River in the Eastern Cape, arguing that such changes would harm tourism and local businesses. The party suggests alternatives like dual naming or heritage plaques to honor indigenous names without undermining the established tourism brand. A local survey found that 93% of residents oppose the name change, and the VF Plus will formally object at a public meeting on 10 September.
