💨 Abstract
South Africans will see significant electricity price hikes over the next two years. The National Energy Regulator of South Africa (Nersa) approved an 8.76% increase from April 2026 and an 8.83% increase from April 2027. These hikes are higher than initially planned due to a court ruling requiring Nersa to reassess Eskom’s costs.
