💨 Abstract
Two new solar-powered electric vehicle (EV) charging stations will be built along the Johannesburg–Durban N3 corridor by June 2026. These off-grid stations, CHARGE N3 Roadside and CHARGE N3 Tugela, are funded by a R100 million investment from the Development Bank of Southern Africa. They will support both passenger EVs and heavy-duty vehicles, reducing reliance on Eskom's grid.
