South Africa has shown no improvement in combating corruption over the past three years, according to Transparency International’s 2025 Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI). The country retained a score of 41, below the global average of 42, indicating stagnation in efforts to curb public-sector corruption. South Africa is tied for 81st place with Trinidad and Tobago and Vietnam.
