Zimbabwe has reduced its poverty rate by nearly half since 1995, President Emmerson Mnangagwa announced at the World Summit for Social Development. Poverty levels dropped from 62% in 1995 to 38.3% in 2019, with primary school enrolment reaching 88% and adult literacy at 93.6%.
