đź’¨ Abstract
Lirim Sylejmani, a naturalized U.S. citizen from Kosovo, was sentenced to 10 years in prison and lifetime supervised release for receiving military training from the Islamic State (IS) in Syria. Sylejmani, who moved to Chicago 25 years ago, joined IS in 2015, fought against U.S.-led forces, and was later captured in 2019.
