đ¨ Abstract
The D.C. Council approved the $3.7 billion RFK Stadium deal in the first of two votes. Councilmember Charles Allen, who initially had reservations, supported the deal after securing reductions in parking, improvements in public transit, and stronger environmental protections. Councilmember Robert White opposed the deal, citing insufficient housing protections. Council Chairman Phil Mendelson and others are considering potential amendments before the final vote. Significant changes are unlikely as the details have been extensively discussed.
