💨 Abstract
On August 2, D.C. hosted “The World’s Largest Swim Lesson” at 30 pools, aiming to prevent childhood drowning. Over 200 kids aged 6 to 12 received free basic swimming lessons and water safety instructions. Naomi, a participant, enjoyed learning to swim. D.C.'s Parks and Recreation Director, Thennie Freeman, emphasized the importance of water safety. Parents like Summer Xavier ensured their kids gained necessary swimming skills for safety.
