💨 Abstract

Eating healthier doesn't have to mean giving up favorite foods, says Sibylle Kranz from the University of Virginia. Traditional diet guidelines are too generic, she argues, and don't consider individual preferences. Instead of avoiding favorite foods, Kranz suggests understanding what we enjoy about them and gradually adding healthier alternatives. She also recommends mindful eating, such as chewing slowly and being aware of our hunger cues.
