💨 Abstract

The FBI announced a plan to move its Washington headquarters to the Ronald Reagan Building complex, a few blocks away from its current location in the J. Edgar Hoover Building. This decision follows years of deliberation and reverses previous plans to move to Greenbelt, Maryland. The move aims to avoid the cost and delay of constructing a new building, addressing the Hoover Building's disrepair and deferred maintenance issues. FBI Director Kash Patel cited this as a "historic moment" for the bureau.
