đź’¨ Abstract
Maria Weston Kuhn, injured in a 2019 car crash, discovered women are 73% more likely to be injured in frontal crashes due to outdated crash test dummies modeled after men. She founded Drive US Forward to raise awareness and lobby for updated dummies that reflect female physiology. The She Drives Act, which would require the NHTSA to use more advanced female dummies, has bipartisan support but moves slowly.
