💨 Abstract
A small plane, a single-engine Piper PA-32-300 Cherokee Six, took off from Connecticut but crashed into Long Island Sound after 12 minutes. The pilot successfully landed in choppy waters, allowing the Coast Guard and local authorities to rescue two passengers with minor injuries and hypothermia. The plane, owned by a Newtown, Connecticut company, sank; its owner declined to comment. The National Transportation Safety Board awaits the aircraft's recovery.
