💨 Abstract

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) is now permitting some complaints filed by transgender workers to proceed, a shift from its previous indefinite stall on all such cases. This change, announced in a July 2025 email, allows cases involving hiring, discharge, or promotion to move forward but under heightened scrutiny, including approval from acting agency head Andrea Lucas, a Trump appointee.
