💨 Abstract
On July 4, 2025, a federal judge temporarily halted the deportation of eight immigrants meant for South Sudan, a decision made following the Supreme Court's approval of their removal. District Judge Randolph Moss ordered a hearing to determine if these immigrants deserve due process under a prior Supreme Court ruling. The decision came after the administration's attempts to deport them to countries like Laos, Mexico, Myanmar, and Vietnam were stalled by earlier court orders.
