💨 Abstract
Ruth Eleonora López, a human rights lawyer and activist, was criminally charged in El Salvador for alleged embezzlement of public funds. Her lawyer, Antonio Aguilar, stated that the prosecutor's office filed the request with the 12th Peace Court. López was detained on May 18, and her case has sparked international and local calls for her release.
