💨 Abstract
One of the most renowned clarinetists in Greek folk music, Petroloukas Chalkias, died at 90. Known for enchanting performances spanning over 70 years, he was celebrated at the Athens Cathedral. Chalkias grew up in Epirus, learned music locally, and later emigrated to New York, gaining admiration from jazz legends. He returned to Greece in 1979, continuing to perform his style, deeply rooted in tradition.
