💨 Abstract
Starting February 1, 2026, tourists visiting Rome's Trevi Fountain will pay a 2-euro fee to get close to the fountain during daytime hours. This measure aims to manage tourist congestion, improve visitor experience, and fund maintenance. Rome residents are exempt from the fee. The decision follows successful trials and similar initiatives in other tourist hotspots like the Pantheon and Venice.
