💨 Abstract
On May 12, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee honored Pandit Raghunath Murmu, the creator of the 'Alchiki' script for the Santali language, on his birth anniversary. Banerjee declared a public holiday in his honor, recognizing his significant contributions to the Santali community, who had been transmitting knowledge orally before Murmu's invention. She also mentioned that a college has been named after him, highlighting his enduring legacy.
