💨 Abstract

The emperor penguin has been declared endangered due to climate change, which is causing sea ice to melt earlier, threatening their habitat and food sources. The IUCN predicts their population could halve by the 2080s. The Antarctic fur seal was also moved to "endangered" due to similar climate-related issues affecting their food supply. The southern elephant seal is now "vulnerable" due to a contagious pathogen. Conservationists urge immediate action to protect these species.
