💨 Abstract
Women For Change has called for a nationwide shutdown on November 21, 2025, urging all women in South Africa to stop work to highlight gender-based violence (GBV) as a national disaster. The protest, timed before the G20 Summit in Johannesburg, aims to demonstrate the economic and social impact of women’s absence. The group seeks government accountability, as a 2025 petition demanding GBV be declared a national disaster went unanswered.
