đź’¨ Abstract
Nearly 40% of water samples from South African schools were found unsafe for drinking, raising serious sanitation concerns. The Water Warrior school water quality project, involving 95 schools across eight provinces, found that JoJo tanks, widely used in rural areas, were the worst-performing water source. Limited access to clean water affects students' health, dignity, and education. WaterCAN's Executive Director, Dr. Ferrial Adam, stressed the need for a national school water testing program.
