💨 Abstract

In Mali, a French national, Yann Vezilier, was arrested on August 14, 2025, accused of espionage and destabilizing the Malian government on behalf of French intelligence. Eleven other conspirators were also detained. Two senior Malian generals were arrested as part of the alleged coup plot, which included political leaders and military personnel. Security tensions are high, and Mali's junta maintains the plot was foiled.
