💨 Abstract
A 27-year-old South African woman, Leigh-Anne McKenzie, was killed in Brazil by her ex-partner, Ian Alexander Bruder Hay, who had a history of domestic violence. McKenzie was shot less than 24 hours after arriving to visit Hay, who had previously assaulting her in Texas. Their bodies were found along with a disturbing crime scene, including weapons and drugs. The case highlights failures in handling domestic violence and cross-border justice.
