The City of Cape Town reported the lowest unemployment rate among South Africa's major metros at 19.8% in Q4 2025, adding 113,000 jobs year-on-year. This marks the highest employment level ever recorded in the metro, with 1.895 million people employed. The tourism sector's growth and investments in infrastructure and high-growth sectors contributed to this improvement.
