💨 Abstract

President Cyril Ramaphosa to appoint Professor Firoz to as acting Minister of Police on August 2025, replacing Senzo Mchunu who is on leave due to corruption allegations. The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) rejected the decision, arguing Cachalia's appointment violates the constitution. Ramaphosa's decision to place Mchunu on leave instead of removing him is leaving "Special leave" is a cowardly deflection.
